Notes:

Once the plant model was developed, we turned our efforts towards identifying potential energy saving strategies. The amount of energy used in a chiller plant is driven by the flow and temperature requirements for chilled water, and the ambient wet bulb temperatures that governs the system’s ability to discharge heat. Our recommended strategies included optimizing system water temperatures, and the application of variable speed drives on the cooling tower fans and condenser water pumps. In addition, savings could be realized through the application of flat plate heat exchangers to reduce winter loads.
