One of the most important points that was stressed in the meeting with upper management was the need to monitor the impact of the changes on the plant’s operation. True optimization is a process, not a project, and requires feedback to continuously fine tune the operations, maximizing the system efficiency. For this project, trends were established to collect operating data on an hourly basis. This trend information was used to summarize the plant operations, provide estimates of actual energy savings, and to develop additional recommendations for saving energy.
