E3 Designs Attends BuildingsNY/GreenBuildingsNY 2010

June 2010 - E3 Designs attended the BuildingsNY trade show in New York City June 16-17, 2010 which was held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

In late 2009 sweeping new policies governing New York City’s buildings re-commissioning and benchmarking were released.  Mayor Bloomberg is determined to improve the city’s buildings energy consumption and to drastically decrease its carbon footprint as quickly as possible.

BuildingsNY was a highly attended event and a great success for E3 Designs.  We met with building owners, managers and operators not just from NYC but also the surrounding area.  Many of the owners and operators were not aware of the new policies or how they pertained to their buildings and we were glad to provide information and direction for them.

NYC is not the only city in the United States to institute policies concerning “greening” of the city.  Washington D.C. and San Francisco have also brought about policy changes for buildings, and other cities are starting research and taking steps to do the same. It has become evident that city officials are grasping the effectiveness of building re-commissioning to make their cities happier, healthier places to live and work.
